Booker grew up in a basketball family. His father, Melvin Booker, played professional basketball in Europe, and his mother was a standout high school player.

He attended Moss Point High School in Mississippi, where he became one of the top high school basketball players in the country.

In 2014, Booker committed to play college basketball at the University of Kentucky. He was part of a talented freshman class that included Karl-Anthony Towns and Tyler Ulis.

Booker played a key role in Kentucky's run to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament, and he was named to the All-Final Four team.

After his freshman year, Booker declared for the NBA draft. He was selected 13th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2015 NBA draft. Booker played sparingly during his rookie season, but he showed flashes of his potential.

In his second season, Booker emerged as a star for the Suns. He scored a career-high 70 points in a game against the Boston Celtics, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to score 60 or more points in a game.

Booker also set a record for the most points scored in a game by a player on a team that lost.

Booker continued to improve over the next few seasons, becoming one of the best shooting guards in the NBA.

He was named an All-Star for the first time in 2020, and he helped lead the Suns to the NBA Finals in 2021, where they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Off the court, Booker is known for his charitable work. He has donated money to various organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Phoenix Suns Charities.
