The Stunning Ordinariness of Death

BY Mahi

Death is a natural part of life, yet it remains one of the most profound and mysterious experiences that we will ever encounter. Despite the fact that every single one of us will eventually face death, it can be difficult to fully grasp the reality of this inevitability.

Perhaps part of the reason that death is so difficult to comprehend is that it seems to stand in stark contrast to the everyday experiences of life. We go about our daily routines, often taking for granted the fact that we are alive and breathing.

We plan for the future, make long-term goals, and strive to achieve success and happiness. In the midst of all this activity, it can be easy to forget that our time on this earth is finite.

But death is not an extraordinary or unusual event. It is a natural and ordinary part of the cycle of life. Just as we are born, we will one day die.

This reality is not something to fear or avoid, but rather something to accept and embrace as an essential part of our human experience.

When we acknowledge the stunning ordinariness of death, we can begin to appreciate the preciousness of life. We can live more fully in the present moment, cherishing the people and experiences that bring us joy and fulfillment.

We can let go of petty grievances and resentments, recognizing that our time on this earth is too short to waste on negativity and anger.

Ultimately, the stunning ordinariness of death reminds us that we are all part of a greater whole. We are born into a world that existed long before us and will continue to exist long after we are gone.

By embracing this truth, we can find comfort in the knowledge that our lives are but a small part of a larger and infinitely beautiful universe.
